Transparent Treatment Plans
Sometimes we go to the Dentist and we hear what they are advising but we aren’t really sure of how their advice translates into number of appointments, and more importantly, the costs associated.
Think of the treatment plan as a Road Map for you to follow from commencement to completion of treatment. We want to ensure that you have the best experience at the dentist and you are fully aware of all treatment and costs, so on completion of your initial examination your dentist will provide you with a treatment plan of any treatment needed.
The treatment plan will list exactly what treatment needs to be done, the number of appointments needed and the cost involved with each visit.
Your dentist will take the time to explain the treatment plan to you fully and this will ensure that you will not meet any surprises when you come and visit.
The front desk will also advise of any payment plan you may require for treatments such as veneers, crowns and dentures. These would normally be paid in 2 or 3 installments over the duration of treatment.
Our dentists, nurses and front desk staff are always available to help you with any queries you have. Contact us here.
PRSI Patients
We also accept patients under the PRSI Scheme.
If you qualify now you are still entitled to one free exam per year
Please provide us with your PPS Number in advance of your appointment, so that we can check your entitlement with the Dept. of Social Welfare. Contact Us Here
Do I qualify for the Government Benefit Scheme?
The Department of Social Community and Family Affairs Dental Treatment Benefit Scheme applies to employees who make PRSI contributions. They (and their dependent spouses) may also be entitled to one free exam per year.
However to qualify, certain PRSI conditions must be met:
If you are under 21, you must have paid a minimum of 39 weeks PRSI since starting work.
If you are aged between 21 and 24, you must have paid a minimum of 39 weeks PRSI since starting work and 39 weeks paid or credited PRSI in the tax year on which your claim is based. (This can be the same 39 weeks.)
If you are aged between 25 and 65, you must have paid 260 weeks PRSI since starting work and 39 weeks paid or credited PRSI in the tax year on which the claim is based. (This 39 weeks can be within the 260 weeks, it is not on top of the 260 weeks.)
For more details visit the departments website here
You can telephone the Department on 1890 400400 ext 44480, be sure to have your PPS (PRSI) number to hand. They will be able to tell you if you are qualified for treatment or not. You can be kept on hold for quite a while at peak times.
Tax Relief
A number of non routine dental treatments qualify for tax relief. This means you can offset the full cost of the treatment against your income tax liability.
This is done by filling in a MED2 form which our dentists will fill out and sign on your behalf.
The Treatments covered by the Med 2 include:
- Orthodontics
- Bridges
- Crowns
- Veneers
- Root Canal Treatment
- Periodontal Treatment
- Surgical Extraction of a Wisdom Tooth
